Going, Going… Gone!

Located in Darree Fields, this bronze sculpture is titled “Going, Going… Gone!” and symbolizes the passage of time through the imagery of baseball. It depicts a swinging bat striking a ball that is shaped as an alarm clock, and shows the path of the ball through a set of yellow discs which have the word “Going” written on them. The final disc is located on the tree line and is mounted to a bronze door, this time with the word “Gone”.

It was recommended to me that an indicator should be put to let viewers know that they are able to zoom in and out. Considering the size of this sculpture, I thought it would be a good idea to add this component to the project. The ball moves as the viewer zooms in and out to create a different way of interactivity within the tour. This is a method I hope to use again in future projects.
